Forgiveness Day

Art Fettig - Forgiveness Day, Forgiveness Sunday
Forgiveness Day

I’m working on a sermon for the children at our church and it touches on the time when Christ was dying on the cross and he forgave the sinner who was dying on a cross beside him.  I thought it might be a neat idea to name this Forgiveness Sunday.  If any of you readers have done me wrong in the past, I forgive you and I hope that if I have wronged you in some way that you take this opportunity to forgive me. Some people carry around a grudge like it is a precious thing.  Some carry it for decades. I have found that it doesn’t do me much good to carry the grudge.  In today’s world we need all of the friends we can get. Can you imagine what a world this would be if we all apologized and forgave everyone else who might have wronged them.  What if nations did this.  Could we bring all our troops home?  For some reason I get the feeling that in Washington, both parties are gearing up for a great war.  On this side we have the Democrats.  And on this side The Republican.  And never the twain shall meet. Don’t you think it would be better for this nation if folks could just come together?
