Home Again

The weather as we drove through the Great Smoky Mountains was perfect…

My wife Jean and I have just returned from a two thousand mile drive around. That is a long road for aging legs and backs and we were really happy to return to the comfort of our own bed. We visited some friends and relatives and talked with folks along the way and even enjoyed a comedy show at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. He Haw! We had a lot of good food and a bit not so good, dined at a famous Country Club with friends and visited a very small plant and some workers. Early on we visited Mt. Airy and dined on a pork chop sandwich and it was better than ever.We celebrated my sisters Virginia’s Diamond Jubilee at Nazareth, Michigan. She has been a St. Joseph nun for some seventy five years now and there was a delicious banquet and there was joy and tranquility not found at most occasions among most folks. We reconfirmed our deep belief that America is the most beautiful land in the world. The weather as we drove through the Great Smoky Mountains was perfect and I saw mountain tops that went on and on and never seemed to end. Breath taking; and throughout North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee we witnessed the awesome forests as they turned a million glorious colors before our very eyes.

This morning I feel renewed. Just now I inadvertently dumped all of my Spam mail and I feel it was an Act of God. What a refreshing accident. And now I feel renewed.

So bring on the Parades and the celebrations and the banquets and gatherings, bring on the plays and all of the opportunities where Art Fettig or Almost Andy might bring a bit of joy into the lives of others. I am ready.
