Listening to Father Time

We see them every day,  people who actually believe they can outsmart old

That is why playing the role of Almost Andy is such fun for me.

Father Time. “Me retire?” They often say.  “No sir, not me, not while I am still able to go out there and give it all I’ve got. Never.”

Sometimes it is sad. And as I write this I am thinking about myself.  I often think about George Burns who was still able to perform at age 100.  He played the role of a hundred year old man with a few still funny things to share with you. That is why playing the role of Almost Andy is such fun for me.  Nobody is expecting a 27 year old comic to come onstage.  I waddle onstage.  I meander now and then when I digress from one point to another and then another and it is a long swim back to my starting thought. Just the same I am having good clean fun and as long as the audience laughs and applauds and seems to be really attentive and enjoying the experience then I shall carry on.  Hope to see you all at Mt. Airy, Mayberry Days this weekend.
