“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Albert Einstein wrote that and for me at this moment , I sort of figure that it is a miracle that I am sitting here in my comfortable, air conditioned office writing this bit on my computer. For several decades I would have first written my thoughts down on a legal sized yellow pad and then I would try to decode my poor printing into something that resembled what I was thinking at the time. Now the idea is transmitted from my brain and my imagination through my walking fingers onto my screen and through what I consider a downright miracle, the whole thing is transmitted to your home or you office or perhaps your telephone somewhere in Africa and you have the option to read it or press the delete key. The mere fact that I am able and I still have the motivation to write this might be considered a miracle. I began my first creative writing some seventy years ago. Thank God I am still able, on occasion, to address a blank page with the same vigor and passion that I did back then. What keep me going now are your responses; knowing that each time, through some miracle, I touch at least one life. That is nourishment enough for me.
